We are in the demolition / cleaning phase of setting up a seafood market in Summerville. I have already been to planning (Holly) and met (Steve) the building inspector. I will have CAD drawings on Tuesday, and was told that I will need an Engineer to sign off on them......Who can help me here? I know fish, fishing and seafood, I am in the dark on this one. The extended family and friends can more than handle the light construction that we are doing, but I want to keep the cost down as much as possible, as we are on a tight budget. I would like to be able to pull permits next week.
It's a pretty common thing to need an engineer to stamp and sign off on a set of plans. You can get prices from several firms, but I think you'll find it rather pricey depending on your changes. Some architects are qualified to sign off on them as well. I wish I could offer more specific help.
Paul,
Who is doing your CADs, they should have an Engineer or two they can recommend, if not ask the inspector or permit office to recommend some...
