I'm looking into staying in Charleston near the beach for a week this summer with my boyfriend and another couple. I'm sure it varies but I'm curious what I can expect as far as a weekly rate at a house/condo/whatever that can sleep 4? Maybe in August? I don't care if we're right on the beach but within a few miles would be nice. I'm trying to compare the area to a few others that we may consider. Thanks

Check out VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner (http://www.vrbo.com - broken link) and that should give you plenty of options.

Rental prices will vary depending on size of accommodations and time of year. For a two-bedroom, non-beach front, in August, you're probably looking at about the $1200 range, give or take a few hundred dollars.

For this year, 2012, be sure to avoid PGA week -Aug 6-12. Rental prices are triple for that one week out on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands.
