We're really are tired of everything CT and love the Charleston / MP area and are seriously thinking of relocating. However, we have a son with special needs (autism) and where we move really depends on the best school system that offers the best in special needs care. Any ideas or experiences?

Thank you

Trident Academy (private) has a focus in education of high functioning autistic children. I can attest that their other special needs programs are wonderful. It follows that they would do right in this area as well.

How old is your son? I've had massive issues with the elementary schools here. Things like the principal at Whitesides where my daughter currently goes ignoring repeated requests for a meeting about moving my daughter up a grade, her teacher insisting that she can't do things (multiplication being the latest case) that I know she can do because she does it quite well at home, etc.

This might be different for someone with special needs, as then you might get to create a personalized lesson plan in advance and have it in writing.
