What is up with the drivers here? What I have witnessed here is not like every where else. Yes this happens elsewhere, but not everywhere. This occurs here extremely frequently.
1. Why- tailgating with the Brite lights on?
2. Why- so many people getting hit from behind?
3. Why - so many running red lights ?
4. Why- not letting someone merge into a lane or on to the roadway?
5. Why - Rush Rush Rush

I'm not sure where else you've lived but generally speaking driving culture here is more courteous and less frustrating than in most cities. Of course there will always be the rude, the self entitled, the selfish, the poor drivers (many of them on holiday or recent transplants from other cities), but driving around here is a breeze. Even most transplants eventually chill out. If you think this is bad, never drive in any major city, and for the love of god don't even think of setting foot in South Florida.
Transplants + Snow birds probably. But it's all relative.
The 28-mile stretch of I-26 through Berkeley and Dorchester counties has caused 28 deaths since 2010, and tons of accidents.

My point exactly. I really don't know why people say this area is not a problem. Look at the size and number of residents. Sure NYC is worse , but there are 10 million people living in Nyc. That is not NYS just Nyc . Bklyn,Queens, SI and the Bx.

Come to Virginia and #1 changes to : 1. Why- tailgating close enough to see the stickers on their windshield or tailgating with the fog lights on.

I don't mean it in a rude way, but you're cherry picking one city to sustain your confirmation bias ... probably something happened today or recently to you on the road and hyperbole has superseded objectivity.
Pick any major city other than NY ... pick LA, Boston, DC, Philly, Chicago, San Fran, Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, even Charlotte, and relatively speaking the driving culture here is rainbows and unicorns in comparison. Those are major metro areas I hear you say ... okay, try driving around Austin or Richmond and see what happens.
Are there areas in the US where driving is less frustrating than the Charleston area? Of course there are. Are there infuriating days on Charleston roads? Sure. Still, by any relative measure, unless you want to live in rural areas. Charleston is indeed a 'breeze' to drive in.

I never thought you were rude. I asked a question and you gave me your opinion. I welcome your opinion . Likewise I apologize if I gave you the wrong expession.
Please just drive the posted speed limit... not less. It is irritating
Lol Of course
