From Facebook:

any information please email sheriff’s department: alcannon@charlestoncounty.org

Update: His car (Blue Honda Element) was not caught on camera. Last sighting at all was Tuesday.

It is with concern and love that we are sharing this information. Richard Box Bachschmidt was last seen or heard from on Tuesday, June 26th. A missing persons report has been filed with the Charleston and Mt. Pleasant police departments, and they have indicated that Folly Beach cameras picked his car up today. Anyone with information is asked to alert the police.

Box, if you are reading this, please know that you have an army of people who love you and are concerned about you. Like you have done so many times by reaching out to others on-air, it's ok to ask for help. Please contact us.

As his friends, family, long time listeners, you know that Box can be the life of the party. He's fun, outspoken, and always willing to chat with anyone that approaches. But there's a much quieter side to Box, and he's also been very vocal about his struggles with depression. He has not broadcast his morning show this week, and has missed several commitments - this is not "typical" Box behavior, and has sparked serious concern with those of us who know him well. Please, if you know anything, or have had a recent conversation with him, contact the police.

Please share...

One wonders if his being let go from WYBB/WCOO a few months back has anything to do with this?

That's sad, I met him before a couple times, and I enjoyed the station he worked on 105.5 the Bridge. I liked his radio show and spoke to him in the mornings sometimes. It's sad, it appears to be suicide, and I pray his family and friends can heal and recover.
