Scanlonville is an older community of single family homes located just over the Dan Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasant. It is off of Mathis Ferry Road and adjacent to Remley's Point Boat ramp. At the present time, the least expensive home for sale is listed at $499,000. In the past year or so smaller older homes in need of repair have sold in the mid 200's to new larger homes in the $1,000,000+ range.

Naturemom,

A number of lots have been for sale in Scanlonville over the past few years. Many are or were heirs property passed down for several generations. The lots are larger than most in the Mt Pleasant area and the town's planning folks generally won't allow them to be subdivided due to a requirement for a certain amount of road frontage. So there are a mix of older brick and/or cinderblock single story homes with quite a bit of larger new construction homes. I helped a fellow with a half acre lot that had been in his family for years. The house was a tear down and hadn't been lived in for years, but the lot was precious -with mature magnolias and cedar trees and plantings - lillies and other flowers that had been there for generations. You're just around the corner from downtown and also close to the Remley Point boat ramp. If you're not into subdivision life with covenants and restrictions and home owner associations, this is a great location.
