We currently live in Raleigh and are considering a move to Charleston. We actually lived downtown on Anson Street prior to moving to Raleigh, and are originally from NY. We have narrowed in on the areas closest to the bridge, but don't feel we are getting a complete picture. We've really liked Olde park and I'on, Old Village, Hobcaw Creek. Our budget is up to 900-1.1. I'd rather stay on the lower end of that. What other neighborhoods can you recommend? We also have twin. It's who will be in 3rd grade, so family friendly and great schools are a must

Another neighborhood to look at in Mt Pleasant would be Molasses Creek.

James Island has some beautiful properties in highly rated school districts though it's a whole different feel from Mt P.

In West Ashley, there is The Crescent which is very nice and is in the St Andrews Elementary School attendance zone. It's also around the corner from Porter Gaud if you wanted to consider private school.

It would help to know more about what you're looking for in the way of a house. If you were willing to consider private school, Longborough neighborhood above Wagener Terrace has some great homes along the water that come up from time to time.

Yes to Molasses Creek.
Another consideration would be Creekside Park: well established landscaping; wonderful tennis club & pool. Quiet, isolated, but centrally located & just beyond Houston Northcutt/Mathis Ferry off of Hwy 17.
