Good News for Real Estate in the Summerville/Charleston Area
With all of the ups and downs and very negative real estate press, I came across this interesting map at USAToday that was very encouraging for those of us in South Carolina, particularly the Charleston/Summerville area.
According to USA Today, our area is “expanding” in comparison to other states which are either “at risk” or actually in recession. The map below is taken from Moody’seconomy.com and featured at USAtoday.
Thought all of you on the forum might be interested to see this! Have a great one.

Great News for all the States in Green; bad news for the Red States since they are all stuck & can't get out to move to a Green State...

Goodtogo...I know. That's the down side. I wish the whole country was green for everyone's sake. I have a ton of clients that want to purchase a house here, but just can't get out of where they are now.

Thanks for posting this - it made my day brighter! I will be needing to sell a house in West Virginia when hubby retires and we move to Charleston area. There was a recent article in our local paper similar to this explaining how we have not been hit with the mortgage mess like some of the states. (CA, NV, MI and FL).
I would be so upset if I couldn't sell my house and move here when we're ready. We're already working on getting things done so it will be ready to go on the market quickly when hubby's retirement comes.

You are welcome! It is encouraging and brings balance to the gloom and doom. Best of luck when it comes time to sell and relocate.

They certainly got RI right. It is definitely at risk. Glad I got out when I did. I don't see how Massachusetts get's a green rating and CT gets and at risk rating though. I think they are being VERY generous with the green ratings. I think some states are definitely much more green than other states. Real Estate is hardly booming in Massachusetts compared to Texas where it really is booming for example.
