Hello. I see my options for internet in the area are Spectrum and Xfinity. Which one is better than the other? And do they just offer internet packages or do you need to bundle with phone and tv?

I know Xfinity/comcast will do internet only, that's what I have. At one point it was cheaper to bundle it with the most basic cable but I don't think that's the case right now.

As to which one's better... I would ask your immediate neighbors. I think it varies by neighborhood and maybe even house to house.

I didn't think Charter/Spectrum and Comcast/Xfinity had overlapping service areas.

I agree, that would be very unusual.

In almost all cases, the local cable company has a monopoly. There are some areas served by Spectrum and Wow!, but that is it.

There's a lot of areas on James Island and West Ashley that has both the Comcast and Wow option. Not sure but I think that's the same with a lot of the Charleston area in general.

I can believe xyz and Wow, but not Comcast and Spectrum. I always thought it had to do with the wire. They can't have competing services using the same. AT&T can do it because they pull fiber, (Verizon FIOS same thing). But when it's coax you can't have two services using it. Wow uses fiber or DSL.
