You're on somebody's list. Did you signup for anything around 2014 ?? Register to Vote ??

Is Jury Duty in Summerville or out in St George ??

Where does the county get their Jury List from ??

You are voting or something. Your name is popping up on the list more often for some reason.

I believe the first time was in Summerville and these last 2 times in St. George. Maybe I went to Summerville before the St. George courthouse was built? I'm not sure when that was so maybe not.

I believe when you register to vote, that is when you get put in the pool and get selected for jury duty. I registered here at the DMV around end of 2013 or early 2014.

I'm going to call on Monday and ask if I can be excused this time. This seems excessive to me.

Each time I have gone, we were dismissed so maybe that has something to do with it?

When I came to Summerville, I went to the DMV to change my address and registered to vote then.

Good to know you think this is a lot of times for one person. I will definitely be calling on Monday. Hopefully they will excuse me this time.

That's excessive.....getting called 3 times in 4 years. That drive out to St George is no piece o' cake either.

Last time I got called (many years ago) I told them that I was self-employed and had no way to make up a week's paycheck. Either the Prosecutor or the Defense Attorney will excuse you during Voir Dire....they don't want to trust the deliberations to someone in those circumstances.

Thanks. I agree about the drive. That is one long drive. It would be nice if once your name is pulled out of the hat, that they take you name out and let others have the opportunity to do their civic duty. Three times in 4 years is a bit much for one person when some get lucky and never get called.

I feel like when I call Monday, they will tell me tough luck and how it's random blah blah blah so I'll end up having to go anyway but I'll try just the same.

I get called every year and i generally go cheerfully but I'm getting older. I found out that in our county if you're 65 you can get a doctor's note to be permanently excused.

They pulled your name once a year? For how many years? Did you tell them to call you any time they want? lol Good for you. I can see it being fun if you actually had a good case.

I don't mind doing my duty and all but I've got other things to do. To go there and back it's almost 60 miles.

I feel like other people should have a chance to partake in that great experience...spread the joy but let me take a break. :-)

Don't you get exempted from jury duty once you reach a certain age? The last time I got summoned for jury duty was like 1994. I've been summoned 2 other times.

I've never actually been selected to be on a jury. Maybe its my looks.
