Hi! I am new to these forums, so this is my first post
My family and I just bought a house in Highwoods Plantation. It seems like a nice neighborhood, but we only had a couple of days to look for a house before we bought it. Is there anything I need to worry about with leaving my home empty for a while before we get to it? I am hoping this is a great place for my kids to play outside and make friends. Any information about the area would be great since I've only visited for two days and will be moving there in July! Also, does anyone know the companies that I need to call for power, water, trash, and lawn service?
This is a great forum, I am so glad I found it! I can't wait to move to the Charleston area...it's so beautiful there!
Not sure where Highwoods Plantation is located but normally for Power it will be either SCE&G or Berkeley Electric, Water will be either the County or City that the house is in CPW, Cable with be Cox, Time Warner or Knowlogy, Trash will be either city you live in or Suburban Disposal. Ask your Realtor which of the ones I listed is correct for you.
I know where Highwoods is located. It backs up to Dorchester Memory Gardens. The area is good and you shouldn't have any concerns. Everything will be in Dorchester County. SCG&E, Dorchester County Water Authority and Time Warner. For trash, Suburban just got bought out and it is now Republic Services Inc. Good luck and welcome.

I have lived in Highwoods Plantation for 3 years and I love it. The people here are more like family than neighbors. I know you will love it to. I hope to meet you soon.
