Hello!
I am having a hard time deciding whether to buy a house in Hurricane, nice older, more established neighborhood, or in The Ridges, South Charleston. We currently live in So Charleston, so less of a move, but Hurricane is really appealing to me because of proximity to both cities , Charleston and Huntington. I do know that most people say the drive from Hurricane is bad, but I really do not think that should be a problem for us since we are used to traffic( lived in Los Angeles area). I do like the schools in so Charleston, and my son is already in JA, but I heard that Hurricane schools are preatty good too.
So I am looking for an honest opinion: what sound better a townhouse in the Ridges ( more than 3000sqft) or a smaller house with nice back yard in Hurricane?

South Charleston! By far!

I think the people in South Charleston are very friendly, helpful, and down to earth!

Hurricane has to many negatives in my opinion.

Hi leanne62499, I don't exactly have the answer for your question, but I would like to ask you for help. I will be moving down to the South charleston area for 4 months due to a short term assignment down there. From your posting, I know that you are currently living in the area and I thought you would know about the area more than me. I still couldnt find a place to live, and I will be moving down in 2 weeks. Do you have any suggestion or contacts that I might be able to contact? Also, how expensive is the rent down there? I currently live in New York and I'm sure there's a difference between the two place.
