I'm not a big fan of this, but all of the cities elevated highway along I-77/64 is being resurfaced starting today. This will be a huge probem for traffic flow, and will cause the city to lose needed lanes of traffic in the most traveled intercection in the state.

Not a fan!

So, do you prefer they allow them to continue to deteriorate?

No lol

I think that they are fine, its just another waste of money. Now are truely falling apart and in need of repair then yes by all means, but I think that this isn't needed right now. Our infrastructure has been well maintained and in good shape.

The cost is really cheaper than waiting until they really fall apart.

We will just have to "grin and bear it".

You're right, it is better that way. I'd rather have good quality roads full time, instead of having a day when they aren't.

Now that school is out for me I won't be driving through there as much.

The Berkeley County figures aren't out yet, but it will be interesting to see if that combined I77/I64 stretch is still the most traveled in the state. At last count, it exceeded I81 in Martinsburg by 3,000 vehicles per day, or roughly 4%.

I'd say 81 is getting close, but you have to remember that the 64/77 spit is really the 79/64/77 split. you have all three interstates pretty much in one. And if you want to add US 119 which merges into the interstate there, then we are talking a big mess for a city of 50,000.

Needs to be done. Be thankful your roads get maintained
Some areas the roads are left to fall apart.

It seems like West Virginia's really coming out to resurface the interstates this year. It's only May and, besides this project, they're also resurfacing a section between Fairmont and Clarksburg on I-79 as well as a sizable section of I-68 in Preston County.
