I recently started a job on Smith St not far from Capital Market, which I love. (the job and the market)
How's the crime on that area.
Just a note about apartments: I visited one complex which has high voltage power lines running right through. Deal breaker for me but impossible to know about without a visit.

This week the crime stats in the East End seem OK. The West Side is where people are shooting each other right now. You'd need to give a specific location before I could give you an opinion. There are some upscale apartments in the building with Bricks and Barrels, but there have been houses condemned and torn down not many blocks away on Ruffner, Dixie, and Jackson Streets. That usually happens when they have found dangerous drugs in the house. That happened a number of years ago. On the plus side, the Police Department is on Ruffner too. In other words, it very much depends on the address you are asking about.

I know nothing about high voltage power lines in residential buildings. I've never heard of that.

Never heard of apartments with high voltage power lines running right through - can you name the location?

Crime is present around Capital Market and that portion of downtown / into the East End but it doesn't seem to be anything when compared to certain parts of the West Side flats (i.e. the state streets- Florida, Delaware, etc).

I guess what are you looking for? What is your budget?

I'm near Bricks & Barrels. At the WVDOH garage.
I was considering an apt short term instead of commuting during the snow. I can't see it happening at the moment. I had a bad (expensive) experience with a "contractor".

There are some fairly new apartments at Ruffner & Lewis Streets that are probably about as safe as you can find. They are across the street from the city police headquarters.

It's only about 4 blocks from the DOH on Smith Street and there are shortcuts you can take when walking.

I'm trying to find the name of the place. No luck at the moment. I might do better on my work computer.
