We started with a 21 foot bow rider. My wife was getting beat up by the weekend crowds so we moved to a 23 footer (normal 2 foot-itis) which helped a little but not enough. We now have a 31 foot cruiser and it is much easier on the weekends.
Weekdays, however, are always nice on the lake. No crowds at all.
