My wife, bassett hound, and I are transitioning from the Marine Corps on Sept. 6th.
I will be exiting the Marine Corps honorably after 5 years of active duty with one tour
to Iraq. We are currently living in San Diego,CA but are originally from Winston-Salem,NC.
We are moving to Charlotte/surrounding area because I plan to attend Johnson & Wales Univ.
in the winter. We were wondering if there is anyone that owns property or has any information that
would help us out. We are going to have to find a rent house/apartment as soon as we arrive
(Sept. 10-15th). We won't be able to afford anything to expensive due to me being in school.
It would be great if we could find something before we arrive so we are not looking for a place
in a U-Haul. We are not very familiar with Charlotte/surrounding area neighborhoods so any advice
would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know what your ideas or restrictions are but you can look on the outskirts of Charlotte. Mount Holly has a nice complex called the cloisters. they should have a website. Belmont might have something too, except i don't know about apartments.
College life is rough, my spouse is finishing grad school and it's not a minute too soon. Please PM me if I can offer any guidance. Commute is important too if your driving and parking uptown.
