Hi, I'm planning a wedding for next spring. I am looking for something affordable & scenic preferrably within an hour from Charlotte. Anyone know of any "hidden gems" ?? Any wedding ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Check out Wedding Dresses - Wedding Engagement - Wedding Ideas - Wedding Planning - By TheKnot.com. It is a specialized wedding site with boards dedicated to regions/cities.

I went to a wedding at Daniel Stowe and i can assure you there were a heck of a lot more than 45 people there.

Lake Lure has some nice areas but a bit more than 1 hr. Really depends on budget and if you want outdoor space/gardens vs ballroom or funky space.

I would 2nd The Knot as well. It wasn't as big when I planned my wedding but now it seems to be the main wedding planning site.

I too am looking for somewhere not too expensive but elegant. Moreso for a reception. Ideas. A friend had theirs at Ashley Grove so that is out for me, even though I liked it.

Have you thought of the Pewter Rose on south blvd? I have done a couple of weddings there. It is a nice place for the reception.
