Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA) plans to rezone the 17-acre Strawn site (bounded by South Blvd, Rensselaer, Euclid, Templeton & Caldwell) and then sell off parcels to developers. CHA’s current plan for this site:
There is no debate about low-income housing here. The debate has been, and will continue to be about things like density and the height of buildings...and what is appropriate for a site that sits adjacent to a historic neighborhood. As I have said on here in other threads, the neighborhood association has been supportive of the project in the past, and has worked very hard with the CHA to modify the original plans which called for 200 foot towers.
Of course, this is only for re-zoning, and there is no developer for this project yet, so we're quite a ways off.
Ok I mis heard jump conclusion sorry guys
