That's $40,000 per job, which seems like a lot to pay for Zeke the janitor's job.

My take on the stimulus money is that it's been, over-all, a good thing. North Carolina seems to have managed it very well & my town is seeing a real & lasting benefit. Right now there are several hundred construction jobs as a result, with at least 3 years of work for those people. At the end there will be real permanent jobs for people.

I think it's a good project too (although I would prefer an Atherton mill type project as well) It's better than it just sitting there and I think that part of town could use a face lift-maybe this will help.

More info on this in the Observer today:

Plan to give Philip Morris plant new life raises questions - CharlotteObserver.com (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/11/05/1812920/questions-over-plan-to-give-philip.html - broken link)

In addition to the movie studio and record company, it seems the plans call for a water park, electric car factory, and a candy manufacturer. This plan looks to be all over the place.

I have only seen more and more businesses going under and people that I know forclosing or doing a short sale on their homes. What exactly has the tremendous amount of money spent on stimulous done? Not meaning to get political since I can't vote, but what exactly is improved about the economy? I don't think anything has. Does the proposed entertainment complex contemplate getting funding from the Obama stimulus package? Just curious.
