Well, not IN the lake But I am looking for a vet in the Huntersville area. I don't need all the bells and whistles since my dog is 4 and he's never so much as had a flea...he's very low-maintenance and hates being poked and prodded (don't they all!) I don't want to go to a place that forces you to subject them to all sorts of tests but I want a place that will do a good job...any recommendations? I'm used to taking him to a farm vet if that helps at all. Thanks!!

I highly recommend Animal Hospital of Cornelius. We take all 3 of our animals there. They only do what you want them to and are very good about squeezing you for emergencies. They helped us tremendously with our Cane Corso puppy. They are off of Catawba beside State Farm.
I did (North Meck Hospital)when my cat was bit by another cat, I had two small kids and a cat - they came running out of the office to help me carry everone in - The Dr. and Nurses were awesome with my very frisky cat - I can not say enough about how great they were.

Good...I have an appointment there so hopefully I have a good experience too!
J-Hawk... I know you already have an appointment, BUT...
We use Paws and Claws Mobile Vet. They come to you This was a lot easier on our 10 yo lab, and even though there is a travel fee (about $50 to cover expenses of gas etc) it was equivalent to office fees that we have had in the past.
Dr Marshall is wonderful, and really puts the pets first. Her first visit with Molly lasted well over and hour!! She really is a great vet, and is based out of Huntersville.
I've never heard of a mobile vet, but I'm intrigued. My dog has major anxiety over vet visits. Do they bring things like rabies shots and medicine to you? Are there fees other than the travel fee?
Now, if only I could find a mobile groomer...
Sorry this has taken a few days to get back to you. Yes, she brings everything to you. If she doesn't have the medication that you need she can get it to you quickly. She does all the vaccinations you will need right from her mobile lab.
Give her a call and she can quote you a price before she comes. She also has a specific service area around Huntersville (not sure of the exact range).
There are also mobile groomers out there- I can't recall off the top of my head the name of the one my friend used, but I will post it if I can get the name.
