My husband and I are both teachers. We currently live in Huntersville but would like to move to Mooresville in the next year or so in order to shorten his commute. We have a young daughter and will be adding to our family, so we want a family friendly subdivision with lots of kids/young families (pool/playground is a big plus) where we can get a house for under 200k. We would like to be west of 77 if at all possible (or at least VERY close to the 150/77 intersection), for commuting purposes. Suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

You are probably going to have a longer commute (time wise) if you are west of 77 than if you are east of it because of traffic.

You are also going to have a much smaller selection of homes and communities on that side of 77 in that price range.

Just something to think about

My husband works in Catawba County, so we really need to stay as far west in Mooresville as possible. Moving that way will definitely shorten his commute, which is priority #1 for us. I know the selection will be smaller, but am hoping for some suggestions as to where to begin looking. Water Oak and Morrison Plantation are two possibilities, I think.
