Gearing up for the big move in three week. Still looking for quotes on movers. Any recommendations. We are moving from Pittsburgh to Charlotte and don't wanna do it ourselves with Uhaul, etc.
When I moved from MI, I rented a U-haul - but hired local guys through the U-haul site for the loading and unloading. I saved tons of money and didn't work that hard.
We moved ourself from Cranberrty Twp-Budget-it was horrible but welcome to Charlotte you will LOVE It!!! YOu will not miss Pittsburghs weather I can promise you that!! Good luck!
I have no idea but I know the weather is much nicer in Charlotte than in the Burgh! I know of about 10 people from my HS graduating class who now live in Charlotte.
GO Buccos!
PS: If you bring a Primanti Pistrami sammich I'll help you unpack.
Welcome Precedexter! My friend moved here not to long ago from Pittsburgh. He used Starck van lines at a cost of about 2800.00. He had alot of junk. We moved ourselves when we moved in 82'.

When I moved locally, I used a company truck and hired our delivery guys to do the work. Smaller scale than you or the OP, but it would be far less expensive than hiring a moving company, and not much more work if OP packs themselves.
Maybe OP isn't concerned about the $$$, in which case I say go for hiring a moving company! Moving sucks!
I don't have any experience with movers in Pittsburgh but here is a good site with tips and things to avoid: Please Review:: Terms of Service.
You might also ask on the Pittsburgh forum. There are a couple of other ex-burghers around here, though, so maybe they will have some advice.
I second that welcome to Charlotte! Catch some steeler games dixies or dilworth grille! Also buy yourselves some cheap tickets to the Charlotte checkers! Not the pens but the fights are great and games are cheap! Be sure to wear your pens gear to the gmes as you will mke many friends! Also, steelers playing preseason here too! As long as there is no lockout!
