We saw a home yesterday at the Mallard Lake neighborhood. The prices are good, but the schools concerns me a lot.

According to the Realtor, here are the schools for that location:

- Stoney Creek Elementary School - Has a grade 3 out of 10 on the greatschools.org;
- James Martin Middle School - Has a horrible grade and bad reviews;
- Mallard Creek High School - It is ok

Any thoughts ?

Thanks!

Have many friends whose kids go to Mallard Creek and they like it. There are a few magnet schools in the area - of course, you are not guaranteed a seat and I think some of them only offer limited transportation. Morehead is in one magnet ( math and science ) and it is now K-7 and will be K-8 next year , I think - so it could be an option.
