I would suggest some of these areas in Mint Hill and Matthews:

Also, I would not go with Northwoods due to the schools.

Keenland would be okay.

Thanks so much! We actually had an offer on a house in Glenwood Manor, but it didn't work out. So, Piney Grove (where that side of Margaret Wallace is zoned for- even though Crown Point is much closer) is an ok school? We were starting to get a bit concerned because they didn't meet their No-Child goals for last year.

I will definitely check out Habersham and Marshbrooke! Thanks again!

Default Good choices

Good choices, lovesMountains. These houses look very good; I would hate to see this family burdened with a long commute and high mortgage payments.

I agree. Is this a new trend in our relationship Barb? LOL

I frequently encourage folks to live "inside" of hwy 51 to get the best commutes from south/southeast Charlotte and the best homes for resale value when they need to sell later down the line

There are some nice properties in Stonehaven (Old & New) Medeiras, and I recently came upon Sardis by the Woods...these are somewhat sleeper communities but older and pretty well established might be able to find some nice homes and they are right between Matthews and Uptown so travel is pretty convenient.

Good Luck...I feel your pain...

No offense greasy, but you can't touch Medearis for less than $400,000!

Sardis Woods is a nice area too, but again, not in this poster's price range

Pawtucket Elementary is just not as strong of a school as others.

In addition, years ago there was a tank farm in the Paw Creek area that did post the only environmental hazard of that kind in all of Charlotte. It was cleaned up, but in my mind I still associate that area with "less desirable" because of it.
