My buddy is coming into town and I promised to show him a good time. We were going to head out after work, meeting Uptown near where I work (Tryon and Trade area). I don't go out much to be honest so I'm trying to figure out where to take him. We're both in our early 30s, and would like to have a tasty dinner, a few drinks, and maybe flirt with a few ladies. Any advice would be appreciated.

Blackfinn
RiRa
Most of the upper-scale restaurants at the Epicenter, most names escape me.

Unfortunately that's the only vicinity I can think of. I know there are a host of restaurants with bar areas (but not full on scale bars) on Tryon and Church/Graham, but I cannot for the life of me think of any names.

Hooters!!!! It's located just a few blocks west of Trade/Tryon on West Trade Street. The location is here.

The Epicentre is just a block down on Trade from Tryon...BlackFinn, you can do Strike City bowling there, Wild Wings cafe, Librettos Pizza...if you want to do some 'clubbing'...you can also try Whisky River, Suite, or Mez...all in the Epicentre. There are a few bars on Tryon close to Trade like RiRa and Fox and Hound. A group of us ended up at Fox and Hound one time and they had a bikini contest going on that night...not much fun for me, but the guys were all drooling .

Take him to Strike City and you can bowl, drink, and see some chicks.

You definitely have alot of places to choose from. Being a 30-something female that works uptown also; I would suggest Anywhere at the epicenter except Whisky River, as well as Dandelion Market or Town Tavern or Riras. Alot of these places are popular depending on the day however. Good luck

No one mentioned Vida. I hate the Epicenter in general but Vida is right up front so you can aviod the Ed Hardy t-shirts. It's a great Mexican place. Very cool looking inside. Kind of flirty. Great guac. I also like Dandelion Market. Ri-Ra is a great bar and restaurant but I don't think of it as a place to run into single women. Have fun!

Might want to check out the NC Music Factory in Fourth Ward. Lots of cool things going on there.

Check out aria charlotte for a great dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere is fantastic.

The Epicenter is pretty mediocre, the only standout would be Dueling Piano Bar | Howl At The Moon - Official Website The clubs there aren't anything special, recommend Whiskey River out of the ones that are there. The others price and act like they are a high-quality establishment, but they aren't even close. Epicenter is funny, if the weather is bad it is pretty empty. If it is somewhat nice out, there are plenty of skirts walking around in heels.
