Anybody has information for day summer camps located in South Charlotte or Union County for older kids 11-13?
I find it hard to find full day educational camps for older kids for most of the day, especially hard once your kid is above 12 yrs old.

It is extremely hard. Mine is 15 (will be in March actually!) and it's very hard to find educational camps for his age and yours. However, I did find a download off of Providence High School's site for summer camps. The locations aren't in south charlotte but it may help.
http://schools.cms.k12.nc.us/provide...s/Default.aspx

Click the 'Read full Story' link. Another window will pop up, just hit the attachment icon (paper clip). Another window will pop up a couple of times to ask for a password, I just hit cancel and eventually the word document will open. If you have problems accessing it, let me know and I'll dm you.
I'm not sure if the camps would accomodate your age group since it is a high school site, but the programs offered are from universities, so they might have programs for your kids.

It is SUCH A PAIN to know what to do with middle schoolers during the summer months. Other than sleep away camps, I have not been able to find anything. The only exception are summer classes at the private schools but they are usually not the entire day and you still need transportation in the middle of the day when parents are working. Providence Day School has a great summer program but it is expensive.

I would check out the YMCA's, Morrison, Siskey, and Harris provide camps for kids up to 13. Not sure how educational you want them to be, but they have art programs, animal camp, etc.

you could also try searching on Charlotte Parent's website

Charlotte Latin has some, you can pick one thing for the morning a second for the afternoon, Providence day does but the choices are different.

Check school websites for some too

If you are looking for something weekly the Y may be the best choice

My sons(15 & 12) would like to go to the summer camps at the water rafting center in Charlotte. Any feedback about this camp?
