Our son is only 3 and we have plenty of time, but it's never too early to start the research! We are looking for a good Catholic elementary school in South Charlotte. Strong academics are very important to us. Any recommendations?
You have a few options right off the top of my head - St. Matthew and St. Gabe's. I've only heard good things about both, but when I taught CCD at St Matthew it seemed like the classes were rather large. I can't be sure how many teachers were assigned to the class, but the kindergarten class was 6 children larger than my daughter's kindergarten class at a nearby public school.
I think St. Ann's may have a school, too, but I'm not that familiar.
St. Matthew is a great school. 1st grade had 26 or 27 kids in a class, but there is a full time assistant for each class. The PTO is very active and parents are very involved with the school.
