The General Statute doesn't seem to be terribly clear on this particular issue. Articles 2A and 3 address ejectment, with 3 specifically noting the reasons for ejectment are 1) remaining after lease end, 2) acts in violation of the agreement, and 3) arrears in rent payment. 2A covers manner of ejectment and remedies, but not issues around property sale.
There is information regarding sale of property due to foreclosure, but the poster didn't state that is the reason for the attempt to change the term of the lease.
Article 5 addresses lease agreements, and early termination of the lease in the cases of military/military families, foreclosure, and domestic violence/assault/stalking. Again, nothing about sale of property.
Perhaps I just missed it; could you point to the specific clause addressing modification to lease agreements in the event of the sale of the leased property? Thanks!
