Oh and remember all of this is unofficial. I'm in trouble enough with those people.

Curious if anyone actually received any refunds IF you were due one from the reval? Mine was approved in early October but I have yet to see anything. I just sent an email asking for an update.

Anyone here get a check/checks yet?

I've seen a couple so far. Hoping for quite a few more since we had so many values revised way too high.

I vaguely remember someone asking about refunds and shortage bills if they purchased the home in the last few years.

I finally got clarification from land records. If the house value decreases and a refund is owed, it will go to the owner of record for the years paid. So in my case, refund for 2011 - 2013 will go to the previous owner, 2014 will go to me, new owner since i paid that year.

If the value increases, there will be a bill for unpaid taxes. That bill goes to the current owner of the home irregardless of who owned it on the past.

Also even though the site stated 70 days before refunds are issued from the approved date of the reval. .. it's actually 6 months from the date of the letter you get regarding the reval.

You can look it up on the charmeck RE lookup site. The reval link to your new value is on the bottom of your listing. (Look up your property)

I haven't heard anything in months on my appeal, but if it's denied I'm definitely going to be starting a class action suit if there isn't one already. There's no way that it can be legal for them to charge taxes for something you didn't even own. I saw an article saying they were trying to change that but haven't seen if they were successful.

Yeah I thought it was highly unfair. I'm lucky that mine went down 12% so the previous owners will get most of the refund. I'll only get 2014.
