I wouldn't think that they'll move all of the jobs to Dublin since salaries and cost of living are much higher there. If they're looking to create a cost savings for the company then they would look for the place with the most inexpensive workforce.

I've been through mergers before, and part of it is the reduction of redundant staff and then the move to the less costly location.

That's what I was thinking. Our company's HQ is in Ireland and we have a very small amount of personnel there.

Of HQ to Dublin. Ireland has cheap corporate income tax of 12.5%. US Rate is 35% All it has to have is a small office and mailbox. So the people who do the real work remain in cheap NC and then the corporation pays little to no corporate income tax on profits.
