A couple folks flashing their DMV inspector badges showed up at my house, asking about our neighbor. After identifying/confirming the person they're looking for as our neighbor, one of the inspectors handed a contact/visiting card and asked to pass it on to our neighbor along with the message that they're looking for her, followed by "no body is in any trouble".

What would you do, if you were in my shoes? Should I contact my neighbor and inform her of this visit?

ps/ the visiting card says the DMV inspector is in the "license and theft bureau".

They might just be trying to get a vehicle bonded: NCDOT: Vehicles Being Bonded

I'd tell them of the visit.

why didn't they just leave the card at your neighbor's door or mailbox? If you know you're neighbor well, then I would leave the card with a note saying these people came by and left this for you, and not get involved any further. If you don't know your neighbor all that well, I wouldn't do anything. It's not your responsibility to get "messages" to someone for the DMV.

DMV also left a note at our door and when we talked to the Inspector at "License and Theft bureau" , he said DMV is conducting an internal investigation against a DMV examiner against complaints that he was recommending a certain Insurance company to folks who recently had Driving tests. They just asked 4-5 questions and said that we dont have to worry about anything and we are not in any kind of a trouble, that it was a part of internal investigation.

Nothing good can come of your not telling your neighbor of the visit.

I'd let them know and have that be the end of it.

I'd tell em without a second thought about it.

Big deal. No need to make a mountain out of a molehill...

I haven't seen them for a few days, so left a note about the visit along with the officer's visiting card. That's the least and most I could do as a friendly neighbor.

Thanks all for your perspectives and opinions.
