Hi,
Did anyone get any hail related damage by this storm? I was driving when all of a sudden hail started falling , I drove to the nearest gas station to prevent any damage. From what I can tell I don't see any damage to my vehicle but I can't be 100% sure since it was raining and dark outside. Was this hail storm severe enough to cause any damage to vehicle or house roofs ?
The sudden storm of very cold rain quickly cleared out the the Halloween traffic about 8pm in my neighborhood. That finished Halloween for 2014. I thought that I might have heard some hail hitting one of the skylights in the house, but I wasn't sure.
We got a bunch of it here in a hurry. Our cars were covered in about 2 minutes. The hail was gone as quick as it came. It covered the cars and the left quite a bit on the street. No damage that I have seen just yet but I will be checking more closely when the rain stops. I don't think there will be any damage.
yeah I checked my car closely today morning and I didn't see any damage ... it was my first time being caught in a hail storm. Also on the news there were no reports of hail damage but the kids going trick or treating had to run for cover.

Sounds like a typical trick or treat during the time we spent in Des Moines. We had one non cold rain, sleet, snow night.
Everyone was saying, "Isn't this great." I said, "Heck no, they want to stay out too long."
OBTW, very, very strangely, Des Moines does this the night before Halloween.
Can't wait. No damage to the cars here. I'm a little surprised, but not surprised at the same time. As I mentioned before, lots of it just not too big. Pea-size mostly with a few marble-size in there for good measure.
The roofers were spoiled by the hail storm "event" that we had in April 2011, and they think that they can milk that gravy train every year.
