Looking to relocate to Charlotte area and really want a walkable area thats affordable. Under 400 even closer to mid to low 300,000. Like to be able to have parks and cafe cute stores etc. Any chance of that in area with good school district. Dont care if outside city as long as has a sense of community and can walk and or bike to things.

Is this going to be a work-from-home situation? There are several communities that can give you what you want to various degrees but you might not want to live there if work is on the other side of the metro.
I have looked at Davidson and Ballantyne complete opposite areas lol. And huntersville and birkdale. Are there commuter trains in and out of those areas. Will look at fort mill, not from area so wasnt really thinking about SC but it does seem so close. Thsnks.

Would you be working from home? If not, do you know which part of the area would have the job?
There are no commuter trains at this time. There are busses & there is one light rail line in town.
My husband now is a regional manager with a bank in North East and has a large coverage area. Doesnt have to worry about rush hr times and an office at home. He does the mortgage side. So if transfers to similar position would assume spread out area again. I am in healthcare but with kids only do weekends per diem. Wont know for sure till the right position opens but want to be ready if does.

North East, Maryland? Then he must work out of Wilmington, DE.
Well, you could look west of Charlotte. Several towns have good schools & are walkable, to a degree. Most of the shopping would be done in Gastonia, but several towns have some shopping & are partially walkable in your price range or less.
