A buddy and I are planning on coming down to Charlotte next Sunday for the Panthers game. We'll be driving down from Roanoke, VA early in the morning, grabbing some lunch, going to the game, and then heading home.
What would you recommend as the best BBQ place in town? Not just for pulled pork and such, I'd like to get some good ribs.
We're planning on parking at one of the train stations and taking the train into uptown for the game, so easy navigation for an out of towner based on that would be preffered. Also we'd be kinda pressed for time getting into town around 10:30-11, so not having to drive all over town would be good.
Queen City Q is right next to the 7th Street light rail station. It's also one of my favorites in the city, Midwood Smokehouse is the other if you have time while you're in town. But that isn't Uptown and doesn't fit your plan to ride the train. There's also City Smoke which is near the light rail CTC/Epicentre station. I've not been but my friends have had good things to say about it.

Have fun!
Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at Queen City Q, and I'm honestly leaning towards that. Looks like it's kinda a hike back to the stadium though from there. I also checked out City Smoke's website, but according to their hours they're not open on Sundays
Keep any more suggestions coming! If there are any other places not in uptown but nearby to the light rail stations that would work too. Looks like Scaleybark is the closest station that has parking at it, but it doesn't matter to me which station I get on at as long as it has parking.

Yeah it's maybe a mile or so from the stadium. Or hop back on the train at 7th and ride down to the 3rd street station which is the closest to BoA stadium. If it's a nice day the walk is enjoyable and you can cut through Bearden Park which is a newer great addition to Uptown.
Doing a bit of research on my own, I found Mac's Speed Shop is pretty close to the rail line. What would you guys recommend between Mac's and Queen City Q?
Mac's is overrated, IMO....and not that close to a light rail station. It's close to the line, but in between the East/West and Scaleybark stations.
The aforementioned Sauceman's is my favorite BBQ place in the city (not sure if it is open on Sundays?) and not too far from the East/West light rail stop...just a few blocks down West.

Saucemans's is open on Sunday's when there is a home game. I like Mac's but agree that it is overrated, if wanting BBQ before a game stick with Saucemans's

Got to say, you can't beat the brisket at Mac's but they are both good for the ribs
