I visited Charlotte for the very first time in January 2013 and completely fell in love with the place!! I too was surprised at how clean the city is and how beautiful it is. My wife and I were in town for a weekend and immediately after we got back home, which was Yonkers, NY, we decided to move to Charlotte!! Fast forward to December 2014 and we are now enjoying this wonderful city and all it has to offer!! The people here are very friendly and everything about the city is simply nice.
Formal Los angles resident here. Come on down you'll fill right at home. I love it here and wouldn't change it for anything. The people are super nice until u get on the freeways lol. That's when my California ways kick back in. I said it also that Charlotte is super clean city and I love center city and the surrounding Areas. Welcome home.
Charlotte may seem clean and pretty for people coming from larger, less maintained cities, but wait until summer. See, here in Charlotte, landscapers are allowed to blow all the grass and debris into the streets. This is something more noticeable outside the city center obviously. You think I'm kidding? Ride down any major street where apartments or condos are during the early afternoon and you will witness one of the biggest mistakes allowed in this city. Seedlings have already begun to sprout between the asphalt and concrete medians, and by June, most major intersections will have 3 foot tall weeds growing out of the median and trees growing out of drains. Combine that with all the cigarette butts that and other road debris that never get picked up and you may change your tune. This is evident in all portions of the city, not just certain areas.
