Well even a modicum of understanding about what Council voted on wouldn't lead the rational to place any blame on Charlotte for McCrory's smelly toll lanes. Charlotte doesn't even hold half the Regional Council's votes!

Gastonia wanted light rail & Gaston offered to pay for their share. CATS told them to shove it. Gastonia went to NCDOT who told them that they would give them commuter rail. That's been on hold waiting for the Gateway station. NCDOT also came to Cleveland County & told Kings Mountain & Shelby that they would get commuter rail. Kings Mountain's station will be park & ride in East Kings Mountain. The commuter rail line is supposed to end in Boiling Springs. Sort of. That's where it's been hanging. I had a thread, some years ago. Even if you found it links would be broken. The Gazette & Star have the same owner. They were sold a few years ago & the archives from the old owner vanished.

The link-in to the casino is my idea because it makes sense. Of course it's still hanging in the breeze, too.
