Interstate 77 is owned, funded and 100% controlled by the geniuses in Raleigh. It is a State road.

I think he's referring to the fact that Charlotte voted in favor of the I-77 toll lanes.

Well even a modicum of understanding about what Council voted on wouldn't lead the rational to place any blame on Charlotte for McCrory's smelly toll lanes. Charlotte doesn't even hold half the Regional Council's votes!

From the article:
Danny Pleasant heads the Charlotte Department of Transportation... He said the city wrote the agenda as an up-or-down vote on all toll lanes because that’s what McCrory requested.

I'll give it to FratPat though, he has made throwing Charlotte under the bus his primary skill.

Kings Mountain's station will be park & ride in East Kings Mountain. The commuter rail line is supposed to end in Boiling Springs. My guess is that if the Catawbas get their casino, they might bring light rail from the airport to Gastonia to Kings Mountain. It would be in their best interest.
Wow...There's a lot here that I didn't know about - especially light rail in Gaston (which I couldn't imagine).

Always appreciate the education

So, if I understand you correctly, the ball's in the State's court?

YW
Sort of. That's where it's been hanging. I had a thread, some years ago. Even if you found it links would be broken. The Gazette & Star have the same owner. They were sold a few years ago & the archives from the old owner vanished.

The link-in to the casino is my idea because it makes sense. Of course it's still hanging in the breeze, too.
