But how do you define "the city"? City limits or downtown (or uptown as Charlotte's is called)? The parts of Concord that would have more land would probably be 45 minutes or so to uptown (as would Kings Mountain), but you can get to the city limits (University area from Concord) in under 30. Honestly I'm not sure if you'd be able to find 10 acres anywhere within 30 minutes of Charlotte or Raleigh for that price (maybe Greensboro or W-S though).

Gastonia could be an option to be a little closer to both the city and Concord than Kings Mountain. Salisbury could be an option that would put you roughly 45 minutes from both Charlotte and Winston-Salem and 30 from Concord.

To get 10 acres, Kings Mountain would have the land closer to I 85/US 74 than Gastonia. The travel time difference to Charlotte & Concord would be negligible.

Sorry, my question about the city was in regards to your request to be 20-30 minutes away from one. If you mean the downtown area, don't think that's happening in Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham. If you just meant the city "limits," that might be possible.

There's been a steady urbanization going on. Most 10 acre possibilities are going to be further from 85/74 in drive time on local roads than the drive from Kings Mountain. Of course, that's now. I can't vouch for 2:years from now.
