I think Msclt has it right. IF your house is subject to attacks or infestation, is in an active pest area, or has had signs of previous insect problems then starting with a treatment plan may be recommended. Absent those issues then learn on your own what is needed.

True, I agree with you. People usually hate bug problem. They do not like bugs entering their home. Yes, Inspection of a pest control company every 6 months is necessary. This ensures that you do not face any problem with the Pests. Some companies renew the time period at once had home exterminated and come for inspection on every 6 months or 1 year.

Personally, I recommend termite service. I have a crawl space and they crawl under the house and use a non-toxic to humans ingredient that kills spicers, termites and all other sorts of god's deviant creatures. Additionally, I go to Lowes and get 12 month insecticides and go around my house at least every three months and spray the base of the foundation (about 3 inches from the ground). In the 8 years I have lived here, I have not had more than two spiders in the house and several of the other houses (all fairly new) have had termite infestation. It is worth $100 a year for peace of mind.

The two spiders showed up after extended times of being away.

I would agree with this also. I moved into an older home last year, very woodsy area, cockroaches were definitely an issue. I have quarterly pest control and its worth every penny. I rarely see them inside the house now.
