I see we have a frost warning tonight. I just planted some little azalas last week. Up north I would have waited til May but I thought I could do them here in March. Do you think I need to cover them tonight?

I would cover them. As a rule of thumb, I don't plant anything until late April or first of May. We had a bad killing frost at Eastertime last year, which was mid-April. Not only got the new plants in people's landscapes but most of the SC peach crop, too.

Azaleas should be hardy. I wouldn't worry about them. I have three still in their pots from the nursery that I haven't planted yet and they've been through several nights of frost and are fine.

Every year the weather does this...we will have a few weeks of warm weather and then....cold...kills everything. Last year it got most of the peach crop...

Yep....young Azaleas? Cover them or you'll be buying new ones.

Frost won't kill your plants; freeze will. People often get them confused. I have several plants outside that are fine after last night's frost.

Well....actually, many plants can survive frost, but it can kill newly formed buds....
Frost protection for your plants and flowers

But I guess if you don't mind naked Azaleas....
