I am coming upon a year in the Charlotte area after spending the past 20 years in the Midwest. The HomeTeam initially treated our newly built house and is now calling to see if we wish to renew our annual contract ($200), which covers annual inspections and necessary repairs/treatments. The contract us renewed yearly and at 5 years they do another treatment. I guess from there on it continues as the prior 5 years. I have no experience with dealing with termites, though I know they cause a lot of damage, and I was wondering if this is a common service needed in the area. Any advice on this is very much appreciates.

We have a bond with Killingsworth. They did the initial treatment when our house was built in 2006. We have them come out yearly for inspections and they do a preventative at that time.

If you are looking around still I have a great company for pest services. It is called Cleggs! Hope they have everything that you are looking for, we love using them on my rental home.

I think you should ask your friends, relatives or neighbors about any professional pest control company they had hired before.

killingsworth has done my termite coverage. It's about $150 each year with a 7yr booster ($200). I haven't had any termite issues. You are basically buying a $100,000 policy in the event you get termite damage.

Hi Judy,

Most important don't have any wood lying on the ground close to your home. I received my license in 1980, that doesn't help you. But i really don't trust any of those companies!
Why are they into heat/cool, lawn care, BBQ's, weddings and international travel?
LOL

You always see termites swarm in the spring, (flying ants and their wings fall off easy) Fireants?? They are a pain! I'm using the best products and have only poor control at best.
20 years ago our friends in the south used DDT and it held them from moving north.

I think you should hire a professional pest control company who have a full-time entomologist and can guarantee their clients with effective control of termites. You can find different termite control services on the Internet or you can contact Eliminex Pest Control today to set up a free termite control inspection of your property. Last month when I was also dealing with similar issue, I had consulted termite inspection Suffolk County Companies, where the experts had visited our home and conduct an inspection of the interior and exterior of the structure and provided a safe layer of protection to your home.
