I am interested in the best places to eat that are not a chain. I enjoy trying new places, and I would love to read what you think!

Some of my favorites (mostly centered around the LKN/N. Charlotte area) are:

The Prickly Pear
The North Harbor Club
Toast Cafe
Village Tavern
Galway Hooker
R&R BBQ
Due Amici
Brooklyn South
Tonys
Lupies
The Bagel Bin

Village Tavern is a chain...not to the scale of Olive Garden, but they have locations all over and are opening more.

The Penguin Drive-In rocks.
