I am currently living in Roanoke, Va and I'm considering a change of scenery once my lease is up toward the end of October. I'm an auditor so I'll probably be working in downtown Charlotte. Does anyone have any suggestions on nice downtown Charlotte condos? Or single family home communities that would be within a 30 minute commute to downtown Charlotte? I'm looking to purchase and not rent. I lived in northern virginia for a while so traffic shouldn't be a shock for me. I'm also single so I wouldn't mind an area that has a decent number of young professionals. Any suggestions you have for a potential move would be appreciated.

You are only limited by the size of your budget How much do you want to spend?
I'll at least be looking in the $185 to $200 range by the time October roles around but that could go higher once I get into a job search.
Okay, to live in uptown Charlotte itself you would need to be in the mid 200's at least. You can get somewhat closer to uptown if you can spend at least $200,000. Your best bet would be to find a realtor who specializes in condo's near uptown. There are certain places you would not want to buy in just yet if you are not an urban pioneer, but there are also places you can get within 20 minutes of uptown in pretty nice areas. Uptown is really a great place to live if you are single or have no kids
If I were in your situation, I would try to stay as close to uptown as possible. There should be options in Dilworth, Myers Park, and Elizabeth, that would be a nice fit. Good luck!
Depends on what you like to do. Are you into bars and clubs, close to uptown is the best to be. Do you prefer Lakes and Malls? Then I would go North West. Resale value with good schools, south side trends well. Lots of variables. You have many options, within 30 minutes of uptown, however, with that price range, you would be limited in Uptown proper.
Take a look at the Huntersville/Cornelius and Birkdale areas which are about 10-15 miles North of Uptown.
