It would be interesting to see what the criteria for making this list is to see where the OP may be coming from. If it is tied to banking it would perhaps be less of a stretch than if it is speaking of globally recognized cities in general.
Half of those are capital cities... some have populations in the tens of millions... I don't see how Charlotte compares to that.
Out of all the people I meet in my travels, about half have even heard of Charlotte - out of the ones that have, they usually think it is a much smaller place.
