What companies in the Charlotte area offer the most generous benefits packages? And do any offer health benefits for part time - maybe American Airlines? Who loves where they work, and why?

Larger finance companies are going to offer them. Bank of America, Vanguard, Dimensions etc.. nearly impossible to get into Bank of America tho... Vanguard requires a bachelors degree just to answer the phones and I'm not sure about Dimensions. Its a new headquarters but their reviews online say good benefits. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who offers them to PT people. Whole Foods used to. I dunno if they still do

4 weeks of paid vacation for starting professionals, more if you have a good amount of experience.
12 - 16 weeks of paid maternity OR paternity leave.
2 -3 weeks paid bereavement for closest family members down to 3 - 5 days for cousins, aunts, etc...
HSA contributions and company matching into healthcare funds
5-6% company matching into 401k + annual profit sharing
If traveling is important to you, American Airlines obviously offers outstanding benefits through the ability to standby for flights and travel for free or significantly reduced cost with family and the Buddy Pass program.

I work for one of the banks and we have two new plans. One is the new co-pay plan though I'm not sure how much the premiums are on that plan (though I know they are high as if you had employee + child(ren) it would be $686 a month). We also have the high deductible/low premium with HSA and that's around $36 for employee only. It also comes with $ from the company for the HSA.
I personally think our medical benefits are terrible. It's because they are self-funded.
I've seen some really good plans such as $65 per month for a co-pay plan ($100 ER visit, $5 drug co-pay, $50 specialist visit, etc...) at local healthcare employers that go through MedCost to $35 for a high deductible HSA plan typically offered at large Fortune 500 employers with the nationwide insurance companies.
For free parking, some of the regional / smaller banks seem to be offering it Uptown as a competitive difference over BofA and Wells who largely dropped subsidized parking in the recession. Ally, Regions, US Bank, etc... have deep discounts or even free Uptown parking.

I work for one of these banks and we don't get free parking or any type of discounts. Maybe it depends on the org or position, but we all pay for parking even the CRO and her LT.

Ah got it. I know at least one of those pays for all employees and thought I heard the other two did, but I certainly sound wrong! Thanks Riley! By and large, I think the conclusion is the vast majority do not pay, especially considering BofA and Wells alone account for like 30,000 jobs Uptown.
