Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Programs for Exceptional Children (private schools, move to, kindergarten)

There's a chance we might be relocating to Charlotte next year for work. We have a four year old child who has development delays, possible hypo-/hyper-sensitivity issues and autism (still waiting to get her tested for that). She's in her second year of pre-K for exceptional children on an Individualized Education Program and will move to a special needs Kindergarten next year on an IEP.
Does anyone here have any experience, or know someone who has experience, with CMS Programs for Exceptional Children and/or private schools in the area for children with development delays? We would like to know the good/bad (if any) and how your child has fared in these programs. Thank you!
