Hello everyone, my husband and I and my mother would like to relocate to Nc . We would like to be near Ballantyne approximately anywheres from 15- 30 min outside of ballantyne . We do not want to be in an HOA. Looking for an area that the houses are not on top of each other and have a little bit of land. House can be older and require a little tlc. We would like to be near quality medical and restaurants for occasional date nights . Looking to find something around 400-700k . Our goal is to relocate in roughly 4 years . We are looking for suggestions for the best areas because we would like to be active in our church in ballantyne. An help would be greatly appreciated . Thank you

There are plenty of nice areas around Ballantyne with land. The big question is if the price of a home with land fits your budget. Are you looking for an acre or is less space ok? Houses continue to appreciate / gain value, so it is hard to know if in 4 years a $600,000 house will be $750,000 and out of your budget. In general though, Ballantyne is surrounded by nice and safe areas. There are older neighborhoods and semi-rural areas without HOAs. Some areas to check out and see if it fits what you are looking forward include:

- Ballantyne itself
- Marvin (very upscale, maybe nothing in your budget)
- Weddington
- Waxhaw
- Wesley Chapel
- Indian Land, SC (might be the most affordable option)
- Fort Mill, SC

All of these areas are a mix of suburban to rural and have new and old housing options. They will put you in close proximity to Ballantyne.

For going out, Ballantyne has plenty of restaurants and shopping from Waverly, Ballantyne Village, Blakeney, Stone Crest, et.. There are also areas like Downtown Waxhaw, Baxter Village in Fort Mill, downtown Rock Hill, South Park, et.. and you can even head to Uptown Charlotte if you want.

You may want to post on the Charlotte forum for more responses since Ballantyne is a neighborhood of Charlotte.

If you are interested in the South Carolina towns like Indian Land and Rock Hill, you could do some reading in the South Carolina forum, York and Lancaster Counties sub-forums. Are children and schools going to be a concern in 4 years?

Wouldn't this topic get more action if it was moved to the Charlotte forum?
