You should post this on the Atlanta board.
People who move anywhere without jobs lined up usually have a really tough time and some even become homeless. If they don't have cash in the bank, they are going to be in trouble.
Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I would get them to research jobs online on Monster or Careerbuilder before coming and maybe make a few weekend trips to make sure they know what they're getting themselves into.
My best advice to you, as well as to anybody is to find a job before you move!!!! The economy is not the greatest right now and finding a job can be very difficult. I don't feel that one should just empty out their entire savings account to make ends meet because they do not have a job here. I was down here by myself for about 3 months until my husband was able to find employment. There's definitely a lot of competition out there in the market. Good luck to them all.
Really? My wife and I both found careers here. Are we just forunate? If they have skills which are in demand, I suspect that they wont have too much trouble finding work.

Fresh starts are nice - but - unless you have a bucket of money, a good job, and housing lined up, you're going to be sorely disappointed in the Charlotte area.
Charlotte is great if you have the means - but it is very expensive.
Be prepared.
