Am I just out of luck or are there any companies around here that will install a home security system without a credit check? Unfortunately we have bad credit. We are working on cleaning it up, but of course that takes time. I need to have a home security system installed - need the fire call part for my home business. Tried calling CPI but because of our credit their free installation offer would cost me $700 upfront Um, sorry I don't have that kind of money laying around. I figure the other big ones - ADT and Ranger American - probably do credit checks as well. Anyone know of one that doesn't?

Why would they need to check your credit to monitor your house for break-ins? Sounds ridicules. Tell 'em all to pound sand!

Mike, they install the system for "free" because you sign a contract for a year or two of monitoring. If your credit is bad they will assume you won't pay the monthly fees and then they loose money on the equiptment.
Unfortunately, for the OP, I think all the companies are going to tell him to go pound sand or ask for a hefty amount upfront.

As far as I know, Comporium didn't check my credit score.

Agreed. I think in the near future our credit will be checked in order to breath...

Why wouldn't a company do an automatic checking account withdrawal or something like that?
