So the bf and I tried this today-Northlake. Really nice. Good variety of food and I liked the layout. I'm considering working at the one in Birkdale due to the shooting at Northlake. Does anyone else enjoy it as well? What are the good nights to go and hang out and not worry about getting shot at??
I have been to the one in Birkdale a few times. I think of it as a sports bar and went there originally for drinks and to watch some fights on TV. The crowd was young and friendly. One night we couldn't get into any of our more favorite restaurants without a 1 hour wait so we had dinner at Fox and Hounds (seated immediately, but place was still packed) and we were very pleasantly surprised - thought the food was quite good, and the service was very good too. Many very nice and very nice looking girls serving.
They usually have great ribs and the atmosphere is cool. I have only been to the Northlake one so far. I'll have to check their website for one closer to me, close to Southend.
Birkdale Fox is nice. The people who work there are great. The food and drinks are expensive. Drinks are very weak and food is generally below average (I do like the ribs though) especially for the money.

Had to leave because of the awful smoke at the one in Birkdale. Other than that the atmosphere seemed to be fun.
Been to the one in Ballantyne several times. I'm a Mug Club member ($20 initial fee, 1/2 off wings and nachos all the time, free dinner on birthday, upgraded to larger beer mug when I order and save $1 on beer). I would go more but there are several drawbacks...
1) Its really smokey, not well ventilated.
2) Its really dark.
3) Most of the TV's are not HD.
Hickory Tavern a mile down the road has a better layout, better ventilated, and loaded with HD sets.
