Hello,
I'm seeking to relocate in October and I would like to find a nice not too expensive 2-3 bdrm furnished rental in the Charlotte area. Since I'm coming from NY, My 19 year old can commute on the bus system until he gets his drivers license. I'd like to be in a nice location which is not in the woods, but not far from the city atmosphere.

I've been advised to rent first so I can decide which neighborhoods I like to buy a home in. I'm seeking a neighborhood which is considered a kid friendly environment. I'd like a home with a community pool, nice high school for my 14 year old. My upcoming job is in the South Charlotte area so maybe it would be convenient for me to live close to work however, I do realize I may not find a home within my price range which is $160,000 maximum.

As always your time and input is greatly appreciated!

Furnished rentals can be pretty pricey, just FYI, and there are not a lot of them around Charlotte. In addition, most would be apartments, not homes, and it sounds as though you really want a house?

Working in south Charlotte you'd definitely want to live there, plus that end of the city has the widest range of great schools. When you are ready to buy a good realtor who specializes in south Charlotte can help you find something in your price range, though under $200,000 in south Charlotte can be more challenging. Have them start with Settlers Landing - one of the best neighborhoods for that price range with a great school assignment, Providence High School.
